The Sweet Void of Death

I ran across this very detailed and interesting account of a man’s near death experience. Give it a read, I think you’ll enjoy this quite a bit…

Near-Death Experience NDE Story of Mellen-Thomas Benedict
Journey Through the Light and Back

In 1982 I died from terminal cancer. The condition I had was inoperable, and any kind of chemotherapy they could give me would just have made me more of a vegetable. I was given six to eight months to live.

I had been an information freak in the1970’s, and I had become increasingly despondent over the nuclear crisis, the ecology crisis, and so forth. So, since I did not have a spiritual basis, I began to believe that nature had made a mistake, and that we were probably a cancerous organism on the planet. I saw no way that we could get out from all the problems we had created for ourselves and the planet. I perceived all humans as cancer, and that is what I got.

That is what killed me. Be careful what your world view is. It can feed back on you, especially if it is a negative world view. I had a seriously negative one. That is what led me into my death. I tried all sorts of alternative healing methods, but nothing helped.

So I determined that this was really just between me and God. I had never really faced God before, or even dealt with God. I was not into any kind of spirituality at the time, but I began a journey into learning about spirituality and alterna¬tive healing. I set out to do all the reading I could and bone up on the subject, because I did not want to be surprised on the other side. So I started reading on various religions and philosophies. They were all very interesting, and gave hope that there was something on the other side. I ended up in hospice care.

I remember waking up one morning at home about 4:30 AM, and I just knew that this was it. This was the day I was going to die….[the rest, here]

Reincarnation Diary: Mike’s Story

Thank you to our reader Mike for sharing this intense memory with us:

“I knew about the concept of reincarnation and that some people believed it, but I was skeptical of it.

In the time my marriage was failing and during the divorce I would get olfactory hallucinations when the weather was damp, drizzly and chilly. I would smell wood smoke and the aroma of meat roasting and bread baking. I asked people around me if they could smell something and they couldn’t.

I did some digging and came across the work of Dr. Brain Weiss and his books. I read all of them in short order and found a past life regressionist not too far from me.

During my regression I went back in time to a time where I was a woman. I lived on the edge of a forest in the mountains and a town was a short walk from my home. It was somewhere in the area where Germany now is.

When I “entered” that life I was walking out of town. There was a light drizzle and, as was the norm for that time and place, fires were going and people were cooking food, among the food cooking was meat and bread. I was wearing a dress with a long skirt and I was barefoot.

I had a husband and three kids, the older two children were boys and the youngest was a daughter. The two boys grew up and got married and moved into a new town. My husband went out hunting one day and never returned. I never did find out what happened to him. My daughter also married. I died one winter, a few years after my husband disappeared, in my house from cold and hunger.

I don’t remember a whole lot from that regression, just what I’ve mentioned, but I do remember that it was a good life. I was happy and content for most of it and had no regrets when I did die.”
