Behold, the story behind the first fully realized vampire story in English, John William Polidori’s 1819 story, “The Vampyre.”

(P.S. Lord Byron’s infamy knows no end!)

The Poet, the Physician and the Birth of the Modern Vampire

(The Public Domain Review)

“From that famed night of ghost-stories in a Lake Geneva villa in 1816, as well as Frankenstein’s monster, there arose that other great figure of 19th-century gothic fiction – the vampire – a creation of Lord Byron’s personal physician John Polidori. Andrew McConnell Stott explores how a fractious relationship between Polidori and his poet employer lies behind the tale, with Byron himself providing a model for the blood-sucking aristocratic figure of the legend we are familiar with today…”

Proving The Existence of The Lost Civilization

Is the established chronology of our human history completely incorrect? Are tales through time of prehistoric societies such as Atlantis not myths at all, but a record of an advanced civilization destroyed by a global cataclysm?

New research now reveals that civilized humans were settled on Earth during the prehistoric era. This comes as no surprise to those of us who follow The Museum of Mysteries – we’ve known this all along!

“Everything we’ve been taught about the origins of civilization may be wrong. Old stories about Atlantis and other great lost civilizations of prehistory, long dismissed as myths by archaeologists, look set to be proved true.” ~ Danny Natawidjaja, PhD, senior geologist with the Research Centre for Geotechnology at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences

New Evidence Lost Civilizations Really Existed

From The Mind Unleashed

“What if everything you’ve been taught about the origins of civilization is wrong? Be it that certain pieces of our history have been intentionally hidden, or that we have yet to discover and realize the true story of our past, new archaeological and geological discoveries are revealing that sophisticated civilizations have likely existed in prehistoric times.

Until recently, the archaeological community has spread the view that the beginnings of human civilization started after the last Ice Age, which ended around 9,600 BC. All human ancestors prior to this time were recognized as primitive, uncivilized hunter-gatherers who were incapable of communal organization and architectural design. It was only after the Ice Age, when huge 2-mile deep ice caps that covered much of Europe and North America melted, that our human ancestors started to develop and perfect agriculture, forming more-complex economic and social structures around 4000 BC. Archaeologists believed that first cities started around 3500 BC in Mesopotamia and, shortly after, in Egypt. On the European continent, the oldest megalithic sites are dated around 3,000 BC, and the popular Stonehenge is dated between 2,400 BC and 1,800 BC….”

Underground Map Reveals Hidden Secrets Of Stonehenge And Nearby Monstrous “Super Henge”

by Justine Alford (IFLScience)

“After spending four years scanning the ground surrounding the world’s most famous prehistoric monument, University of Birmingham archeologists have produced a map of unprecedented detail of the earth beneath Stonehenge. The findings have yielded many unexpected surprises that are transforming our understanding of this ancient landscape, including details of a nearby 1.5 kilometer-round “super henge” and a plethora of previously unknown monuments.

For the survey, named the “Stonehenge Hidden Landscape Project,” researchers ditched their digging tools and turned to magnetometers and ground penetrating radars that they dragged around with quad bikes. These techniques, combined with aerial photography and airborne laser scanning, produced high-resolution 3D maps of the iconic landscape and the hidden secrets below…”
